More and more schools are working through project-based learning and incorporating chess as a cross-curricular educational resource. However, Educachess proposes going one step further with an innovative approach: educational chess, which combines learning the game with its transdisciplinary application to enhance competency-based learning and the overall development of students.

This model, grounded in the latest research in neuroeducation, makes it possible to use the practice of chess to develop multiple skills —cognitive, emotional, and creative—, strengthen executive functions, and foster the transfer of what has been learned through chess to other curricular contexts.

With this comprehensive approach, Educachess contributes to the universalization of chess through the implementation of educational chess in schools (see the annexes in the PDF at the end of this section).

For this purpose, Educachess carries out research, planning, and the development of both materials and teacher training courses, with the aim of promoting this implementation across different educational stages: early childhood education (Creative Pre-chess), primary education (Play and Learn), and secondary education (Chess for Everyone).

Furthermore, the design of the materials makes it possible to implement educational chess in all schools, as the use of student workbooks or textbooks is optional. All activities are included in the teachers’ guides, and the workshops can be carried out using PDF sheets available for free download.

In the Educational Materials section of this website, further information can be found on teachers’ books, student workbooks, and other complementary resources —stories, comics, Active Mind and Investigate workbooks, and books from the Educational Chess Resources collection—.
