| Educachess is a global and innovative project that uses chess as an educational, therapeutic, and social resource, with the aim of enhancing the development of cognitive, emotional, and creative skills, and promoting competency-based learning throughout life. | Video project |
The project is structured into six interrelated areas —educational, sporting, social, solidarity-based, cooperative, and research—, with the educational field serving as the foundation for the development of the others, especially the social and solidarity areas.
An example of this is the innovative outcome of educational chess, the result of research and cooperation within the educational field. This approach provides an essential added value to the Educachess project (see the Educational Project section and the corresponding PDF).
The scope and international reach of the project (see the Global Framework PDF) require strong patronage (see the Collaborate section on the website) to make it possible to offer all multilingual materials —in PDF and interactive multimedia formats— with free access. This support is also essential to consolidate a stable infrastructure, including WikiChess 3.0 and a UNESCO Chair of Chess, ensuring the continuity of the project, the constant updating of materials, and its international dissemination.
In summary, the project is developed through three main lines, each with different phases of implementation. The first consists of the publication of materials —in PDF and printed book formats—; the second, of their digitalization into interactive multimedia format; and the third, of the design of an online solidarity competition for schools, based on these interactive multimedia materials.
