The social project of Educachess aims to use chess as a tool for social transformation, fostering equal opportunities, cognitive health, and inclusion.
Chess, traditionally associated with intelligence and reflective thinking, helps promote gender equality, multiculturalism, and intergenerational relationships, while also encouraging the inclusion of people with disabilities or those at risk of social exclusion.
This project is developed through two main lines of action:
– Therapeutic chess, based on neuroplasticity, which applies the practice of the game as a therapeutic resource both in the educational field —to support students with ADHD or other behavioral disorders— and in the health field, aimed at the cognitive rehabilitation of adults affected by stroke, Alzheimer’s, addictions, or other neurological conditions.
– Chess Perspectives, a cultural and social project that promotes gender equality and multiculturalism through the portraits and stories of chess champions, highlighting the educational, artistic, and human value of this universal game.
As a recognition of its social and cultural importance, Educachess will promote the declaration of chess as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
